"Marine engineering" centre was established in 1993 and is now functioning as a part of Association of centres of engineering and automation (ACEA) 

The "Marine engineering" centre (MEC) - is a research and consulting organisation, which is performing on the contract basis works in the following fields:

• study and systematisation of environmental conditions in the areas of prospective sea structures' erection;
• determining environmental loads from wind, currents and waves on marine constructions;
• determining loads from various types of ice forms on structures and pipelines;
• determining loads from collisions of floating objects with barriers;
• analysis and optimisation of offshore structures design;
• analysis of ecological safety of projects realisation;
• mathematical modelling of structures behaviour during their operation period, determination of extreme parameters and constructions reliability study;
• development, sale and support of the specialised software for design calculations of marine structures.

The program package "Anchored Structures ", which is created and constantly developed by a group of authors from MEC, is certificated by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping and is actively used by leading design organisations of Russia and Ukraine while designing sea constructions.
